The new generation flow cytometer BD Melody mainly includes three lasers: blue (488nm), violet (405nm), and red (640nm), 9-color fluorescence detectors, 2 scatter detectors (forward scatter, side scatter), and four-way sorting. It can provide fast, stable, and reliable cell sorting services and can be applied in many research fields. The BD FACSMelody™ cell sorter utilizes BD’s advanced optical system, which enhances signal generation, collection, and detection through fixed optical paths and independently focused lasers.

It can be used for targeted cell sorting, as well as for qualitative and quantitative analysis of cells, such as intracellular protein detection, intracellular DNA and RNA content, immunophenotypic analysis, cell cycle dynamics, cell viability assessment, apoptosis research, and cell functional analysis.This cell sorter has high sensitivity and can identify and separate up to 9 colors of target cells. Compared to similar cell sorters, they have the multi-color detection capability necessary to identify low-expressing cells or rare subpopulations. The new BD FACSChorus™ software guides researchers through the entire cell sorting process using automated technology. This cell sorting technology allows researchers to simultaneously separate multiple groups of cells into different tubes, or to direct single or multiple groups of target cells into a 96-well plate. The BD FACSMelody™ system allows researchers of different skill levels to obtain high-purity sorting results.
